Moving On...

What can I say. Today officially is one of the worst days in my entire life. As some of you may know, my husband and I have been planning to move into our new home in town this week. Everything had been going very smoothly, until last Friday, when we found out that the people buying our home had a problem with their loan. We thought we had that part taken care of, but apparently not. Tonight our buyers called us and told us that they don't know if they can buy our home any more, which leaves us in quite the spot.

I will give you more details tomorrow.. . hopefully the news will be good. I just need to accept the things in this life that I cannot change.

Starting Solids - Yucky!

Howdy! Happy November to you all! It's been a few weeks since my last post.

Last week, on the 14th, we went to the doctor for Keyan's four month appointment and shots - I hate shots and so does he. He has grown so much. He's over 16 lbs and 27 inces long. He was born at 6 lb 9 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. So, he has come a long way. Figures, all he wants to do is chow.

Anyway, the doc. gave us the okay to start Keyan on solids. First we are supposed to start with rice cereal mixed with formula and then we can start on some baby food/vegetables. He said beware for fruits at first because that is like baby candy. haha.... I love it.

Above are two pictures from his first feeding. He HATED it. At first we were trying to decide if it was the bland cereal or just the whole spoon thing. After trying this for a few days, we gave in and started feeding him butter-nut squash baby food. And, he LOVED It! I guess he just hated the flavor of the cereal, so yeah! Keyan has crossed another milestone.

As for the picture of me below... yes that's me in all my motherhood glory.. hahaha... Yes it's a glamorous job. I had just gotten home from working out and Justin decided it was the perfect time to take a picture. BLAH.... haha..

Speaking of working out, it is so much harder when you have kids. I still manage to get there at least three times a week, but I need to do better. Gotta lose those baby pounds.. haha. :-)

Ahhhhh

Friday is finally here! HALLELUAH HALLELUAH (Angels sing). I am so glad. This week everything has been so stressful. Work, life, etc. But, yeah FRIDAY'S HERE YEAH FRIDAY'S HERE! I have been having a lot of anxiety lately... I think it's just one of those things. Where you let yourself get stessed out about every little thing.

What usually works for me is yoga. I love it. I haven't been able to go for a while, but it totally calms me down. And you get a pretty good workout too.

Good news. Our home's linoleum has been put in. Things are moving along alright. I wish they would move along a little faster. Our buyers for this house keep getting anxious. Understandably so.

I am ready to move.. well actually no, moving really sucks. I wish I had a Genie in a lamp. And after I was done wishing for happiness, money, etc.. I would ask him to move all my furniture to our new house. Why is this such a big issue? Well, because we don't live next to a road, we have to drag all our furniture up hill on a winding thin sidewalk out to the moving truck. Like 100 yards away. Sigh * :-)

My mom should be coming over today. I like it when she comes over, she's fun to talk.. Keyan is wonderful, but he hasnt' quite grasped the language yet. I've included a picture of her and Keyan. She always thinks she takes bad pictures, but I think she takes good ones. When I was a kid she was always cutting herself out of pictures she thought she looked bad in. Silly mama.

Late Halloween Post

Sorry, this is a really late Halloween blog. I am a procrastinator.
Halloween was great! Me and my husband decided to torture poor Keyan and put him in this cute monkey suit. Hey my parents did it to me too! I don't know why I get such a kick out of it. haha... My uncle thought he looked like a mouse or something. I was like NO HE'S A MONKEY. :-) See the apposable thumbs?

Anyway... The Luke's always have this fantastic tradition of carving tons of pumpkins right before Halloween. Justin is the best at this. I will post a picture of his Jazz Pumpkin, and this isn't even his best work. We think he should probablly quit his job and become a professional pumpkin carver.. Okay so we wouldn't only have an income in the Autumn... no big deal, right? J/K

Anyway, things have been good this past week. Keyan goes to his 4 month Doc. visit next Monday, which will suck because he has to get shots in his behind again. And will cry.. I hate that.

O - Friday, so close, yet so far away....

I wish Friday was here in a BAD WAY! I don't know why, it really isn't much better than any other day. Now I'm not saying my days are bad, but there is just some relief in knowing the weekend is close at hand.

This week has been really uneventful... thankfully. We are still waiting to hear more about our house, which is under construction. Last Saturday they had it all sheet-rocked and stuff... so there is progress being made.

My mom's first husband's mother had a stroke the other day. Those are never pretty. I hope she can make some progress or just pass away peacefully soon. You hate to see loved ones in such a vegetative state.

I'll keep you all updated.

Dirty Laundry that Smiles Back

My Mom and I decided to clean Keyan today. He was lookin' a little dirty. I guess he liked the idea too. J/k... haha

This has been a really good week. It's raining blessings... look out!

1.) We got an offer on our home. We are so thrilled. Now we don't have to worry about finding a buyer.

2.) We won a Home Depot Gift Card, (well hopefully).

3.) Our insurance actually paid our medical bills! Yippee!

4.) Keyan is over his colic!!! DOUBLE YIPPEE!

5.) I got a haircut. I can't tell you how good it feels to have all that extra hair gone. Okay so this doesn't compare to the previous four, but I'm a woman, what can I say. Nothin' like a new haircut and some new shoes to make you feel good. :-)

Stupid Deer Hunt

As you can tell I'm not a fan of the deer hunt. I liked it when I was a teenager in high school because we were able to get our of school. I don't know what it is, but it's not my favorite thing. Maybe it's because my husband was telling me after you shoot the deer you immediately have to gut it and remove it's insides. Can you say GROSS!

So he and Michael Durrant went up to our cabin in Pinto last night to spend the night and get up really early and hunt. Armed with lean pockets, donuts and guns. I don't know which of the three is more leathal.

They didn't get any deer. Just a good long night of no sleep.

I hate it when Justin leaves. I guess I'm just clingy or something. I just miss him and feel alone. So it is good to have him home.

Grabbin' & Babblin'

Just yesterday Keyan realized that he has hands, and these hands can do many things. Like grab toys and go in his mouth.

It's amazing how much he has changed over the past month. He can now entertain himself for more than 15 minutes. It's great!

He's becomming such a chunk too! As you can tell from this photo.

Welcome to my website! Let me tell you a little about me and my family.

My name is Kenzi. Justin and I have been married for almost three years. We have a sweet little three month old boy named Keyan, who is so wonderful.

We live in sunny St. George, Utah, and have for all of our lives. We love it here!

I work out of my home doing doing Optemetric billing and my husband is a Optician for an optical lab.

The things I enjoy most in life are being with my family, enjoying the outdoors, gardening with my husband, SHOPPING :-) (haha), and playing with my son.

Enjoy the Site!
